Burleigh

The Ballymaloe kitchen and craft shop sells a range of pottery including Burleigh. Burleigh (Burgess, Dorling & Leigh)  is a family run business that was established in 1851 and it is still manufacturing a pure English earthenware product in the 21st Century. The Ballymaloe Shop sells the Blue Calico online but more ranges are available in the shop such as Blue Arden, Blue Felicity and Asiatic Pheasant. Contact us for more information on 021 4652032.

Burleigh Blue Arden Pattern The Blue Arden is "one of Burleigh's favourite old patterns from the 19th Century. An abundance of Hawthorn blossoms in a rich cobalt blue. One of Burleigh's favourite old patterns from the 19th Century. An abundance of Hawthorn blossoms in a rich cobalt blue."

Burleigh Blue Asiatic Pheasant Pattern Blue Asiatic Pheasant "was the most popular pattern of the Victorian era introduced in 1827. Its romantic gentle blue pattern proved to be more popular than its dark Georgian counterpart Willow. Asiatic Pheasants took pride of place from the kitchen dresser to the dining table. The sheer volume of demand has left us today with many antique pieces. There are modern imposters but ours is as the original pieces were in the 19th century!"

Burleigh Blue Felicity Pattern Blue Felicity is a small delicate flower pattern reminiscent of elder flowers in a gentle pale blue originating from the 1930's. All our teapots are made in the traditional way with old-fashioned grids inside the spout.

The beautiful Burliegh pottery is used every day in the Ballymaloe café and it is dishwasher safe.
